The Story Behind The Mayor
The Mayor you ask? It all started in 1973 when my grandfather, Barry Fry opened his used car lot. From that day forward he would forever be known as (self proclaimed) The Mayor of Sanatoga.
If you needed to borrow money, borrow a car, negotiate to buy that car, have a wingman, get your daughter’s boyfriend beat up, go see a Penn State football game - you’d call The Mayor and there he’d be.
As sure as College football on a Saturday, we would sit and chat and dream about my future and what my salon would look like someday. All awhile his best friends coming and going just to chat with The Mayor and hear one of his one liners. I watched from a very young age a Tony Soprano type hero. Didn’t take crap from anyone, and loved his family endlessly.
So when it came time for my dream to become reality, The Mayor was the only option. He left us in 2019 and all of this wouldn’t be possible without him. Still today I can feel his belief in me, and I hope to bring the joy to you that he brought everyone every time they set foot in his business.
